More from the 4th

Well, the rest of the 4th was very nice. After the girls got up from their naps, we headed over to MaMaw and Paw Paw's for a cookout and a fun time with all the family. As usual, we had quite a feast and our family enjoyed the incredible burgers Drew mixed up (the cookout was "bring your own meat"). Afterwards a rowdy game of "4 Square" was started. Of course, Drew and everyone else got their competitive spirits out! Even the big ol' pregnant lady got in on the action (aka yours truly)! That was a sight to see but I did get to the "Ace" square once. :) Around 9 PM the fireworks kicked off with the ones Molly bought. Drew and Dustin lit up the "snakes" that grew on the ground and then everyone started in on the sparklers. At 9:30, the Town of Boone fireworks started and we had a great view from MaMaw and Paw Paw's yard. The girls loved them but Evie insisted on keeping her hands over her ears. We headed home after a long and full day and watched the Boston Pops on TV. Here are some pics from the game...

Mary Fran and Ruthie "chalking."
Evie wanted in on the game. She's holding a little ceramic dog that she named "Dora" and has been sleeping with since. Thanks, MaMaw and Paw Paw! :)
Mary Fran wanted to play with Aunt Kris. They did really well!
Evie playing with Daddy. We are constantly amazed by her athletic ability!
It was a wonderful and full day. I was reminded again that even though our country has some serious problems I am very thankful the Lord saw fit to place me here and am thankful for all those past, present, and future who protect the freedom we enjoy.
