This past weekend we took our annual trip to the fabulous SC State Fair. It must be put on by the most incredible manager and most competent staff in the entire United States! ;) The chil 'uns and I went down on Thursday afternoon so we could have a full two days "doing the Fair." Thankfully, there was quite a lot of business at work but, unfortunately, Drew couldn't come down until after work on Friday with Molly.
This year all the kiddos rode quite a few rides. Poor Ward wanted to ride many more than he was tall enough for (I told him I knew exactly what he was going through). However, some he could ride but needed an adult with him, so Saturday when Daddy was there was the day for those! Here are a few snapshots for ya...
The train!
Cade wanted to ride it once he saw his big brother and sister on it. Yeah, they were thinking the same thing.
Pa Pa got in the mix. Ward was going to ride the bees with Evie but said, "No, I want to ride with Pa Pa."
Ward's favorite was the "Spiderman ride!" He LOVED it!
Here's the sunset on Friday evening. Just beautiful!
Saturday we started off at the Caterpillar roller coaster and all three older ones got to ride. Mary Fran even got in the mix riding with Aunt Molly! We figured out the for Mary Fran it wasn't a fear of the rides but just that she didn't want a strange man to buckle her in. That I can understand. :)
Spiderman ride was on the list again. Below is a video of Evie and Ward riding. They were LOVING IT!!!
Cade wasn't all the keen on riding rides until he saw the cars. That did it. He employed his big brother to come along with him and they got that car going good!
Evie wanted to take her little brother. Such the little momma!
Mary Fran really wanted to ride the Ferris Wheel. This one had buckets for 4 people in each. I told her Friday we'd have to save it until Saturday as I needed some more adults to go along with us. Then, we decided to wait until Saturday night so we could ride it with all the lights. Such fun!!! Cade was a little unsure but then he saw all the city lights and changed his mind.
Our last stop was the cars again as the older three had already ridden their final choice ride of the swings. Ward was "ridden out," so Cade rode by himself. He was so excited and so proud. Just check out the video below!
As usual, we had a very full but wonderful weekend. If you're in SC, you gotta go "Find Your Happy" at the SC State Fair!
