Happy Independence Day!!!

Happy 4th of July to all y'all!! We have had a wonderful day so far. MeMe came up last night and this morning we ate a quick breakfast and headed into downtown Boone for the annual parade. It's not a big parade but a lot of fun nonetheless. We met MaMaw, Paw Paw, Grandmama, Granddaddy, Aunt Molly, Uncle Dustin, Aunt Daphne, Ruthie, Uncle Marshall, Aunt Kris, Hannah, Mikala, Uncle Bill, Halee, Addie, and Allyson for the festivities (all family). MeMe showered the girls with goodies last night and this morning (as usual) including 4th of July outfits and many different accessories. Aunt Molly also made the girls visors so they were all decked out! Here are some pics from the morning...
The whole gang waiting for the parade to start.
Allyson, Addie, Mikala, Halee, and little Eves in the back of Grandmama and Granddaddy's car.
Mary Fran and Aunt Kris. Wave that American flag!
The start of the parade on our "Main Street" (actually King Street).
The Jones House Float. This was the centennial of the Jones House which is one of the oldest homes in Boone and now serves as a Cultural Community Center.
Evie with her MeMe...check out the glasses MeMe gave the girls!
"Horn in the West" float (truck) and cast. Horn in the West is an outdoor drama depicting a group of mountain settlers during the Revolutionary War. It's a really neat activity up here and if you haven't been before, you should give it a try. :)
Beautifully restored old cars. I took this picture for Drew's benefit. :)
Seeing as we love horses around here, I had to get a picture of these for the girls.
After the parade we got some lunch from Quizno's and headed off to the park for a little bit with Dus, Daph, and Ruthie. It was really nice and then we came home for naptime. :) Tonight we're off to MaMaw and PawPaw's for a cookout with the family tonight so look for some more picture later. Until then, have a wonderful Independence Day!
