Going's On...

I have to tell you, it's been quite a week. I had so many plans but Monday's early morning has really had more of an impact than I thought. Today is the first day I have felt like myself as far as energy level, etc even though I have been going to bed early. Such is life. In this time, we have had some going's on that I thought you might be interested in.
As I said in the last post, the girls stayed with Grandmama all day on Monday so I could rest some once we got home from the hospital. After my appointment with Carrington, Drew and I went to pick them up and found all kinds of drawings and words on Grandmama and Granddaddy's driveway. One of them that was quite impressive was Evie's name in her own handwriting. She has been duplicating it on the Magna Doodle and dry erase board all week long. Way to go, Eves!
A close up taken by a proud daddy. :)
Tonight we went and picked some apples from around our property. The girls enjoyed it and Drew found a woolly worm for the girls to watch as well.
Here is the woolly worm in question. These worms are native up here and are usually a sign that Fall is coming. Legend has it that the coloring on the worm who wins the "Woolly Worm Race" at the Woolly Worm Festival the 3rd weekend in October predicts the weather for the winter up here. How that all works, I'm not sure but that's what we believe up here!
Mary Fran found a rock and wanted me to take a picture of it.
Of course, Evie promptly found one as well. Here are Drew and the girls showing off the Wolf River apples Drew picked. Aren't they huge?!? They tasted OK but are really more for baking and applesauce. I think we're going to dry them and possibly make some apple cider from them. There are quite a few on the tree!

Contraction update: no more of note since Monday evening. We were 37 weeks yesterday so anytime now will be fine. Just waiting until little Ward decides it's time to meet the world!

I 've been thinking about you and your family. I will continue to do so.

The apple picking is super cute.
