Here are the chicks. Yes, they're black and not yellow. These chicks are a different breed, so that was a great "teaching moment." They were a little shy, so we didn't get to pet them but...
...we did get to feed the chickens and roosters scraps! Evie, Ruthie, and MF had a great time feeding and got to watch how they interacted, as well.
Eves feeding away!
Once the scraps ran out, the girls had fun finding dandelions in the field with the help of Joel and blowing the seeds all around. Thank you so much, Greer's, for allowing us to come and learn on your "homestead." Y'all are such a blessing to us!
Last night, the Dustin Petrey's came up for dinner. As usual, we had a wonderful time together but Ward was a little fussy sitting in his seat waiting for his carrots. His big sister, Eves, came over to offer her finger as a pacifier. What a servant's heart!Speaking of the Dustin Petrey's coming up, I have to recognize my wonderful sister-in-law, Daphne, who cleaned up our kitchen while I took care of a fussy Ward and dealt with my own exhaustion. Daph, you are more of a blessing in my life than you will ever know. Thank you for simply doing what needs to be done and blessing not only me but our whole family in the process.
