Wee Cycle Consignment Sale

Last night I had the pleasure of being able to go to the Wee Cycle Children's Consignment Sale Pre-Sale (I had volunteered 6 hours and got to go early). Our dear friend, Sharon Lawrence, has been doing this since the Fall of 2004 and it is just absolutely wonderful! I always find great clothes and shoes for our children, baby equipment, toys, books, and maternity clothes. This year was no exception! I would agree with Sharon that this is probably their biggest sale yet. This is how we clothe our children for the next season and I have several times found birthday and Christmas presents. Everything there is the highest quality and she even has homeschooling supplies/curriculum on consignment. I have consigned some of our excess clothes, shoes, toys, and equipment in the last several sales and have been able to make a nice bit of money. :) Feel free to check out her website here.
Evie went with me last night to go shopping...I needed her feet to try on shoes. This time around I did not need to buy a whole lot as there were some dresses of Evie's from last summer that still fit her and my mom, bless her heart, did a good bit of shopping the other weekend at outlet stores when she was on a trip. I did, however, need to get Easter outfits and had seen one for Evie when I was volunteering. That was the second thing Evie and I went to get after getting a certain pair of shoes which you will see below. Yes, we had a plan (and a list because I have gotten myself in trouble before by not having one)!
We found Evie's Easter dress. Isn't it so cute and look like her?!? Set us back $7.
There were several I had picked out for the MF but Evie and I decided this one looked like her. This one was a whopping $4.
My favorite find had to be Ward's Easter outfit. I had already looked through the clothes in his size for summer and not found anything. Then, I went back one more time and found these pants and hat. LOVE the hat! Those were $7 and the shirt (there are actually 2 there) were $4. So, the total we spent on Easter outfits for three children was $22. Can you beat that?!?
These were the special shoes I was telling you about. MF has some red cowgirl boots and we had not been able to find Eves any. Not anymore! I spotted these pink boots while volunteering as well in Evie's size for a mere $3. This was the first place we went, they fit, and the wee Eves carried them around the whole time and promptly put them on her feet as soon as we got in the car. They are the shoe of choice for today along with MF wearing hers.
I also got a Baby Bijorn carrier for $7, some cactus blocks for Ward, 2 pairs of shoes for Ward along with 3 pairs of PJ's and one outfit, a total of 4 pairs of shoes for Evie and some PJ's for her, a set of 6 books, and a couple of handmade hairbands for our nieces for their summer birthdays along with the Easter outfits. All of this for just under $90! I'm telling you, if you live anywhere near Boone, please come up for the sale that starts this Thursday, March 4th and goes through March 13th (closed Sunday). The last day is half-price and she may even hold it open for longer if the weather is bad or there are a lot of things left. Thanks, Sharon, so much for the service you do for our families!
