Tennessee Anyone?

This weekend we packed up and headed over to Pigeon Forge, TN to meet mom and have a mini-vacation with her. She has a floating time share and generous shared it with us. We stayed in a wonderful condo just like the one we stayed in in November. On Friday we woke up to a pretty big thunderstorm but, thankfully, it blew past by 11:30 so we headed over to Dollywood to enjoy the rest of the day. The first item on the agenda was lunch. We ate at a little diner and with the weather being gorgeous we decided to eat outside. Once we finished, the girls were found doing this... When asked what they were doing, Evie said, "Look at this momma duck resting!"
After watching her for a while, they fed her and her friends some of our leftovers and then we headed off for some rides.
The first we came to was a building made out to be an old gas station. The girls had a great time "driving" and we even ended up riding this a few more times later!

The Merry-Go-Round is everyone's favorite so we headed off there. Mary Fran wanted to ride on the bench but...
Evie was riding her own horse like she was a regular rider!
Evie wanted to ride some more rides with MeMe but Mary Fran wanted to rest (it was naptime).
Look how high they are!
I wasn't there when this cowboy sauntered by. Notice the boots, spurs, gun, holster, handcuffs, and cowboy hat. And, yes, he was dressed exactly like his grandfather who was right beside him. Is this a sign of things to come? :)
Riding the bumble bees! We stayed at Dollywood until about 4:30 and, thankfully, didn't encounter anymore rain. After a wonderful dinner it was back to the condo for baths and some much needed bedtime.
Saturday was again beautiful so we decided to enjoy the pool. Here the girls are enjoying the view from the balcony.
Ward was not to be left out. Look at that bathing suit!
Mary Fran hung out in the "big pool" with MeMe while...
Evie, Daddy, and Wardy hung out in the "kiddie pool." We all ended up in the big pool by the end of our time there and had a great time!
On Sunday we treated mom to a Mother's Day brunch at the Apple Barn. If you are ever in Pigeon Forge, TN, you must eat there. The food is wonderful and you wouldn't need to eat for another 24 hours!
And now to leave you with some footage from the pool. Thanks, mom, for a great weekend!

We wanted to try to eat at the Apply Barn while we were in PF, but we got there right after closing. Isn't PF a little Myrtle Beachish? Fun, but very tacky! :)

Yes, I agree about the Myrtle Beach reference. That's what I told Drew the first time we went. Dollywood is really neat, though, with some great shows. I'm sorry y'all missed the Apple Barn. You must go back and try it sometime.
