Well, I finally got around to working up our 4 gallons of strawberries. Saturday or Sunday (can't remember) I cut up 2 gallons and got 8 quart bags full to freeze. We love us some strawberry cobbler and I am even up for doing some smoothies, too, so these will serve nicely for that. Tuesday night I got to working the other 2 gallons up for strawberry jam while listening to Drew and Molly practice their set list for a "concert" this Sunday. Blissful!
Aren't those just beautiful?!?
I like to make freezer jam as opposed to cooked jam (just my preference). It's really easy...just follow the directions in the Sure-Jell pack and you're golden! I made 2 runs of jam which yielded 12 jars and then had enough for 2 more quart bags to freeze. I'd say I'll have to make some more jam as we LOVE that stuff!
