Yesterday morning I made pancakes for the children and myself. We had run out of maple syrup and the yummy blueberry syrup Grayson and Jessica had given us for Christmas with our bowl of goodies. Therefore, we were using the Mrs. Butterworth's syrup they had given us. Here is the conversation with Mary Fran that followed:
MF: "Mommy, I want Mrs. Butterworth's on my pancakes."
Me: OK, honey. I'll give you some.
Pause as MF looks intently at the bottle of syrup on the kitchen counter.
MF: "Mommy, where is Mr. Butterworth?"
Me: (stifling the laughter) "I don't know, sweetie. Probably selling the butter."
