Weekend with Pa Pa and B

Pa Pa and B came up last weekend for a visit. We had a wonderful, full, relaxing time. It was really nice since we hadn't seen them since Cade was born!
Friday night we had dinner on the deck and a cake to celebrate Dad's (July 29th), Mary Fran's (Sept 7th), and Ward's (Sept 29th) birthdays. Like I've said before, September is the month of cake around here!
Pa Pa and his girls

We gave dad a USC book with real memorabilia in it for his birthday. There is even a letter written by my dad when he was in the Ticket Office at the University! The Petrey's got me one for my birthday a couple of years ago and I found one for dad. It is so neat!
Pa Pa and B also brought up some gifts for all of us (besides for the birthdays). Drew and Ward got USC hats, the girls Gamecock tees, me a Gamecock Snuggie (!), and Cade a toboggan that he is modeling here. Won't be long before it fits!
Saturday we had brunch at a wonderful little restaurant in Jefferson called Sweet Aromas. Afterwards we went strolling down Main Street in West Jefferson and then headed off to the playground. There was also a creek down a big hill off from the playground so Pa Pa, Evie, Ward, and Cade went to explore it.
What a beautiful day and setting!
Pa Pa read Ward "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?" which is Ward's favorite book right now. The boy can "read" it all by himself but why not snuggle with someone if you can, huh?
It was a great weekend and we really enjoyed seeing Pa Pa and B. This weekend Me Me is coming up so we're just going to be all "familied up!"
