Teachable Moments

This past weekend we went down to Columbia to visit family (and get out of the cold). Yesterday morning I was getting ready to go for a run as Evie was getting ready to eat breakfast with PaPa. I got a handful of peanuts to eat to give me some fuel and keep the nausea at bay. Here was the conversation that followed:

Evie: "Mommy, what are you eating?"

Me: "Peanuts. (Thinking this might be a "teachable moment...") You see peanuts have a good bit of protein in them..."

Evie: "Mommy, please don't tell me about peanuts. I just wanted to know what you were eating."

Dad and I dying laughing...

Guess that was a "teachable moment" that wasn't ripe for the takin'. :)
