Boone PD

Wednesday was especially nasty up here with rain, wind, and falling temperatures. Nonetheless, we moms packed up our kids and headed to the Boone Police Department for a little field trip since learning about the police was on our preschool agenda. Our Uncle Bill is a Sargent up there and was more than eager to show us around and teach us all about what the police do and what all goes on in the police department.

Captivated kids!
We had such a wonderful time! Uncle Bill brought one of the cars inside and showed us the lights and inside of the car which was really neat. Nobody really wanted to sit in it besides Ruthie but they enjoyed looking all in and around it. We also got to go up into the 911 relay room and speak with the ladies there. It was so interesting and I think the moms learned as much or more than the kids! We had a great time and really appreciate Uncle Bill and the other officers allowing us to come and see the "goings on." Next week we're studying paramedics and, if all goes well, we are planning to take a field trip to see an ambulance and meet some EMT's. Stay tuned!
