Hope of Glory

Today would have been the second birthday of our nephew, Daniel. Daniel's life on this earth lasted two days. As this day approached I have been pondering all that happened then and has transpired since. The thing that kept coming to my mind was "the hope of glory." Daniel never knew the sin and pain of this earth. Instead, he has only know the glory of Heaven and there is only one way he has come to know that...Jesus Christ. Because Jesus chose to come to this earth as a helpless baby, wholly man and wholly God, we have the chance to know the Hope of glory. Stephen Curtis Chapman wrote a song titled "With Hope" that was sung at Daniel's funeral. Here are some of the lyrics:

We can cry with hope, we can say goodbye with hope

Cause we know our goodbye is not the end

And we can grieve with hope, cause we believe with hope

There's a place where we'll see your face again

Even in the face of the tragedy of Daniel's death there was and is hope. There is hope because God looked down through time and saw every single one of us, His creation, and desired for us to spend eternity with Him. He loved us so much that he chose to leave the radiance of Heaven to live among us sinless and blameless, die an excruciating death that He didn't deserve to allow us, if we chose to accept Him as Lord of our lives, to spend eternity with Him. That is the Hope of glory.
