Today is the day! The day Cade Petrey starts wearing "Big Boy Pants!" Yes, I know he's not even 2 yet but he has been showing signs of being ready for over a month. Ward did the same thing at the same age and I wasn't sure I wanted to potty train him then as Cade had just been born but he did great. I'm just hoping to seize the opportunity with the Cadester!
He has been so excited and wants to be just like Ward. :) We put some underpants on him last night to get him psyched up for this morning and he went running around the house with his shirt up to show everyone. Of course he was cheered on by his admiring public (parents and siblings).
Here would be our boy at the start of the morning...
He's got muscles...big ones!
We started out the morning with the all important fluid load, full strength apple juice. Our children get water and milk to drink, so juice, especially not watered down, is a REAL treat. You know, it never ceases to amaze me how big our children's bladders are. Every time I potty train one of them it takes quite a bit of fluid before they're ready to go the first time!
I have to say that Cade has done really well so far today. Three successes and three accidents. Not bad!!
As you saw in this post I was trying to train him as an infant. He was doing well but I slacked off and didn't keep up with it. My hope is that since he's already been exposed to it as a babe he'll get it quickly. If not, no biggie!! For now we're taking it as it comes and I'm so thankful to have 3 big helpers in his training!
