Coffey Apple Orchard

Keeping with my "catching up," we took a field trip this Friday to the Coffey Apple Orchard like we did last year. We had a great time once again as Mrs. Jane and Mrs. Nancy told us all about how they pick, shine, and sort apples.
Learning all about the "apple shining and sorting machine" they have.
A real antique...
After learning about the apples, trees, and Johnny Appleseed we got to go on a tractor ride to see the rest of their land and the Christmas trees their sister and her family grow.
Now that's some scenery!
Ward was pumped.
After the tractor ride, we went through their small corn maze and then each child got to pick a pumpkin to take home. Julia Kate liked hers.
Here's our crew under one of the many apple trees they have on their land. Each child also got a small bag of apples from the orchard. It was a wonderful field trip and we also bought 2 pecks of Golden Delicious for eating and drying and 2 pecks of Winesapps for apple pies. Come on by and get ya some! :)
