Deep Gap Junior Junior Firefighters

That's right, after yesterday I think all our children would qualify to be Junior Junior Firefighters (Junior Firefighters start at age 12). Joey Parsons was the Volunteer Firefighter to give us our tour yesterday and he did an AMAZING job! Just to give you a taste of how great he was, Mary Fran asked to get in the truck this year and would only get in and out by way of Mr. Joey (not me) whereas last year she wanted nothing to do with getting in the truck. Joey talking to us about his air pack while also showing us all the equipment on the trucks. Heath and Joseph pretty much told us what things were if something was left out. :)
Joey in his fire suit. Even though he looked scary, I think everyone will remember to come to him or another firefighter dressed like this if the need ever arises.
The boy had a big time in the truck. Joey told us moms, "Like I always tell the moms, they can't hurt anything." He showed them all the buttons and they did enjoy playing with them!

Getting ready to go out on a drive around the parking lot. I wish you could see their expressions when he started the truck up. They were more than pumped!
They each got to take turns pulling the lever back to spray the water. Oh, the fun!

He's as big as the rest of them!

The whole crew with our firefighter friend. Thanks again, Joey, and Deep Gap VFD for letting us come and learn all about fire safety and have such a great time!
