So Before My Brother...

...decides to leave a comment about me not posting in a week I'll post. To be honest, I have been pretty tired when the kids go down for nap/rest time and just haven't had the time nor energy to post. Here comes the "stream of consciousness..."
  • Drew has had a busy but productive week of work which is such a blessing. We've both been a little "off" this week and I think the busyness at work is the reason for him. Don't know the reason for me other than the usual "pregnancy hormones." :)
  • Our garden is growing and we're seeing all kinds of things sprout up. I don't have any pictures right now but will try to get some this weekend. The big thing is our tomatoes have flowers on them which is a big improvement from last year. We put them in pots on the back deck last year and they evidently didn't get enough sunlight because they neither grew nor died. They're down in the raised beds this year and seem to be doing well.
  • We've taken a break from doing specific stuff during "workbook time" this week. It's been good as Evie and I have done some sewing (she finished a felt stuffed elephant, pictures forthcoming) and reading and snuggling. Mary Fran and I have done some reading together and fun games. It's been nice to have some one-on-one time with them without workbook pages, etc involved. We all enjoy that stuff but it's been nice to take a break for a little bit. Probably because I feel somewhat scattered! :)
  • Went for my 30 week check-up yesterday and everything looks great. Cade is head down which was different from 2 weeks ago. I figured he was because I felt a huge "flip" from him last week and then have noticed what feels like fingers moving on his head in my lower abdomen. He should stay. If he doesn't, we'll just get the girls and Ward to talk to him down low and I have no doubt he'll gravitate to that. He loves hearing their voices already!
  • Pregnancy's going well except the tiredness. It's nothing to complain about just the Lord getting me prepared for what's coming with middle of the night feedings when the Cadester arrives. It's good to be prepared! :)
  • While I was at my appointment yesterday, the children stayed with Grandmama. It was a beautiful day so they were all outside playing. From what Karen told me, she and MF were a little ways away from the front steps where Ward was sitting on the bottom step holding a ball. Before she knew it, the ball rolled in his lap and he went with it skinning his upper left forehead. It's a little larger than a quarter and a really good war wound. He handled it fine and I think he's even proud of it! Other than several busted lips this is the first "big one" from this fella. Something tells me it's just the tip of the iceberg...
  • Our niece, Julee, is due to arrive on Wednesday if she doesn't decide she wants out sooner. We can't wait to meet her little face!
  • I've organized a good many of the papers and whatnot around here and they're finally down in the file cabinet in the basement. That's been a load off my mind. Next thing up, Ward's baby scrapbook. Yes, he'll be 2 in September but it just seems that it takes a baby's impending arrival for me to get on it.
  • The bunk beds we've ordered for the girls have arrived. We're excited about that! They'll be moving into the room that was the nursery once we (Drew) get them set up and get mattresses. Oh, and clean the carpet in their "old" room and paint. We've had some crayon and pencil on the wall that needs covering up before Ward (and eventually Cade) move into that room. It's going to be really crazy seeing our little man in a "big boy bed" but I have to remind myself that Evie moved into a double bed at 21 months. Ward is 20 months now.
  • I also have to give a a little praise to my husband who told me recently that it was much more important for me to spend time raising and training our children than try to "force" having a Tupperware party here (to help with some expenses). It is such an unbelievable blessing to have a man who knows the eternal value of having the mother of his children at home with them and trusting the Lord to provide for us in every way. I love you, honey!

Well, I think that's all for now and I'll try to post some pictures soon. As with posting I haven't been on top of the picture taking either. Have a great weekend all!
