A few weeks ago we got a call early that Emmi, G'mama and G'daddy's beagle, was having her pups. She delivered the first in the wee hours of the morning and by 11 or so she had had all six of her young 'uns. Our children and myself, along with Daphne and her girls, were able to witness the birth of the last one. It was truly amazing and our children loved it. We had had school for the day!
Little Emmi had 5 girls and 1 boy. One of the girls is the lemon you can see nursing there. We get to have 2 of the girls who we have named Rosie and Birdie.
We went up this past Sunday to visit the four week old (today) puppies. Mary Fran is holding Rosie and was so proud that she rocked her to sleep. She's such a good momma!
Wardie is holding Sam, the only boy. He is very much a good papa! Evie was holding Birdie most of the time as she has declared she will be responsible for training her not to nip. Cade was very much into holding any of the puppies he could get his hands on. We have had to go over the concept of "gentle."
