The Birthday and Party

As I mentioned before, Evie turned 5 on Friday. She requested strawberry pancakes for breakfast, so strawberry pancakes it was for us all. Instead of workbook time, she chose for MF, herself, and me to watch part of the "Little House on the Prairie" movie and then we played a game. She has on her "fancy Easter dress" because......Aunt Molly came to take her out to a special lunch. They went to a "fancy" restaurant and then on to the playground and Bass Lake. It was quite a full day. Auntie M gave Evie a Willow Tree doll that she treasures as well as a book called "The Princess and the Three Knights." This is a great book and if you haven't read it, it is a must as it is a wonderful read with beautiful illustrations.


Mary Fran, Ward, and I held down the fort and made chocolate chip cookies which was Evie's request for our dessert that night. Guess it wasn't all bad not to get to go out with Aunt Molly. ;)Once the ladies got back after a full day out, Drew made Evie's birthday dinner while I continued to clean up in preparation for Saturday's party. Eves had requested hot dogs, cous cous, broccoli, and chocolate chip cookies. Yes, you read that right. :)

We gave her our present on her birthday. It is a sewing kit that she absolutely loved! She has already sewn together the felt cat. It's amazing! I'll post a picture of it soon. In addition to sewing, she also loves horses and that was the theme this year. Had a hard time finding these plastic horses. They just don't make "classic" toys anymore, you know?

Grandmama and Ruthie had been practicing this song(s) and led us off. He's saying "cheese!"
In addition to this great game and Angelina Ballerina book, Evie got all kind of horse themed things from books to stamps and stickers to a paint by numbers shadowbox. She also got all kinds of "craft" stuff which she loves to do. It's been a busy morning here already with all the crafts we've done! The horse necklace from G'mama and G'daddy. Mary Fran was being silly and wearing her blanket in all kinds of contraptions. Now, Molly and Karen brought a horse pinata for all the kids to do. To rig it up Drew, Dustin, and Molly came up with this. I thought it picture worthy.

We had a wonderful time celebrating Evie and her 5 years. Thanks to all who came to the party to celebrate with us!
