Well, today we woke up to some ice on the deck but clear roads and figured the big stuff was going to come later. However, when we got in the car we realized it was sleeting and then found out church was called off. Since we were in the car, we headed down to Dus and Daph's for our own "home church" today. Once we got there, the snow and sleet really began to pour and it wasn't long before the roads were covered. We had a great time, though, and the girls got to entertain themselves like this...

Then, Daph had the great idea to build a tent and the girls enjoyed reading while we finished getting lunch ready. Once we got packed up, we tried to make it up our hill in the mini van but the front wheel drive couldn't carry us. Dus took Drew up to our house in his truck for Drew to get his truck and up the hill we went. We all rested while the snow poured outside and by about 5:00 we saw this off of our back deck...

Not quite the 1-3 inches that was initially predicted, huh?

We got suited up and headed outside to make snowballs and a snowman (Ward was sleeping). Aren't the trees beautiful?

Just a shot of the
front of the house.

This is a shot from across our street.

Me and my girls

Is that not the best snowman you've ever seen? Evie named it Laura and MF Frosty.

Once the snowman was built, we got Drew's old sled out of the basement for some sledding. You guessed it, Evie was pumped, MF declined. Drew made a track for her and off she went!

Of course we had to return the sled to it's place in the basement so Daddy pulled the Evester while MF and I walked behind. We then warmed up with some hot chocolate, had dinner, and got ready for bed. Yes, it's still snowing and adding to our 6-7 inches already today. This is probably the biggest snow we've had since getting married. It's cold but it sure is pretty to look at!

It's been nice to be "forced" to stay at home. Gave me a chance to just sit and think about some things. I'm really loving all this snow!! Global Warming my foot!
