Today was finally the day! The coop was ready and we got to go get our chickens! Can I tell you how excited we all were? Giddy, just giddy.
So this would be the incredible coop my husband built. That's right. He built it, designed it, all with his own hands. My husband is pretty unbelievable wouldn't you say? We also enclosed the bottom with wire before we put the hens in. Don't worry, they weren't getting out. :)
Our first batch of chickensWe have 2 Black Australorps (lay brown eggs) and 2 Araucana (lay blue-green eggs). They have been given names as you may have heard above. Evie and Cade have the 2 Araucanas. Evie's is "Susan" and Cade's "Tiger" as she has more black feathers around her neck. Mary Fran and Ward have the Black Australorps with MF's bearing the name "Lucy" and Ward's "Zebra" (she's the bigger one).

Are those chickens available to rent?
Sorry I missed your visit to pick up the hens! Glad to see you got an egg already :)
We missed seeing you, too, James. We've gotten 2 more eggs this morning as well! Good stock. ;)
