Yesterday Drew took us to one of the churches in the area that puts an American flag at the grave of every serviceman buried there. I had never seen this done before and it was absolutely beautiful...and sobering. Some of those with flags at their headstone had recent dates of passing. Some did not. There was one headstone at the grave of a 23 year old man who was killed just at the end of WWII. That's how old Drew was when we got married.
Thank you to all the men and women who serve our country selflessly. Thank you to their families who do the same. And thank you for putting yourself in harm's way for our country and our freedom. There are no words to adequately express my gratitude.
